The Best Water Filtration Systems for Your Home

Reverse Osmosis Drinking Systems in Gananoque & The Thousand Islands

Pure, laboratory-grade drinking water; straight from your tap.

You shouldn’t have to spend an arm and a leg on bottled water to feel good about what your family is drinking. A well designed RO system provides a consistent supply of pure water right to your kitchen.

Reverse Osmosis uses a very fine membrane to strip out the tiny contaminants that most regular filters  miss. The result is water that’s equivalent to, if not better than, commercial distilled water.

Whether you’re on city water in Kingston or Brockville, or drawing from a private well in The Thousand Islands, an RO system gives you clear, clean, great-tasting water and real peace of mind every time you fill a glass.

What Does Reverse Osmosis Remove?

Salt & Heavy Metals

Things like lead, arsenic, and dissolved salts that you don’t want building up in your body over time.

Laboratory Experiment Setup

Harsh Chemicals & Chlorine

The same disinfectants that keep city water safe can make it taste and smell off. RO strips them out.

Pest Control Worker

Agricultural Pesticides

Runoff from fields can make its way into wells and surface water. RO helps block these compounds.

Lab Test Tubes

Trace Prescription Drugs

Tiny amounts of medications can be found in some municipal sources. RO is one of the best ways to reduce them.

Bacteria and Microorganisms

When paired with proper pre-treatment and disinfection, RO adds another barrier against unwanted microbes.

Two Ways to Get Pure Water

Finding the right fit for your home or business.

Every family and property is a little different. We will look at your water, your plumbing, and your daily habits, then recommend one of two main approaches.

Flexible Remote Mounting

We can also mount the unit remotely, often in the basement directly below the kitchen, to save on cabinet space.

This system ensures you have all the benefits of point-of-use purification without compromising on storage space.

Point‑of‑Use Systems

This is the most popular setup for homeowners. The RO unit is usually installed neatly under your kitchen sink and feeds a small, dedicated drinking tap right beside your main faucet. You get purified water for drinking, cooking, coffee, tea, and pet bowls without constantly buying bottled water.

Whole‑House Systems

For larger homes, cottages with multiple fixtures, or commercial spaces, we can install high‑capacity RO systems that treat all taps, ice machines, beverage stations, and process lines. These are custom-built for your specific flow rate and usage.

The AskWill Details & Pro Tips

Seamless integration into your kitchen.

We know your kitchen is the heart of your home, and you don’t want a bulky, awkward add‑on that looks like an afterthought.

Here’s how we set things up:

• Your RO system feeds a separate, dedicated drinking tap beside your main faucet.

• We will walk you through style and finish options so it fits your kitchen, not fights it.

• In many cases, we can source an RO tap that matches your main faucet in colour and design, so it looks like it’s always been there.

You end up with a clean, simple setup: one tap for general use, and one tap for ultra‑pure drinking water.

Will’s Pro Tip: Protect Your Fridge

If you already have, or you’re thinking about buying a fridge with a built‑in water and ice dispenser, this is where RO really shines.

When we connect your fridge to an RO unit:

• Your ice cubes are crystal clear and taste clean.
• Your water tastes better than bottled, without the plastic waste.
• You protect the internal parts of the fridge by removing scale‑forming minerals and harsh chemicals before they reach the valves and lines.

Those fridges are a big investment. Feeding them RO water helps prevent mineral buildup and premature failures in the expensive components you don’t see.

Reverse Osmosis FAQs

What exactly does a Reverse Osmosis system remove?

It removes almost everything that isn't pure water. An RO system forces water through a semi-permeable membrane that catches contaminants microscopic filters miss. This includes sodium, heavy metals (like lead), chlorine, pesticides, and even trace pharmaceuticals. The result is "flat," pure water that is comparable to, and often tastes better than, premium bottled water.

Will the tank take up all my space under the kitchen sink?

Not necessarily! While the standard installation goes neatly under the kitchen sink, we know that kitchen cabinet space is valuable. If space is tight, we can often perform a "remote installation" by mounting the unit in the basement directly below the kitchen, running just the lines up to your tap.

Can I connect the Reverse Osmosis system to my fridge water dispenser?

Yes, and we highly recommend it. Connecting your Reverse Osmosis system to your fridge does 2 things:
• It gives you crystal-clear ice cubes and cold water that taste amazing.
• It removes the minerals that scale up the delicate internal lines of your fridge, potentially saving you from expensive appliance repairs down the road.

Do I need a plumber to install a Reverse Osmosis system?

You need a licensed technician to ensure it is done correctly without voiding warranties or risking leaks. As licensed well technicians, we handle the entire installation, including drilling the counter for the dedicated faucet (if needed) and tapping into your drain line according to code.

How often do Reverse Osmosis filters need to be changed?

Typically, the pre-filters and post-filters should be changed once a year, depending on your household usage and water quality. The RO membrane itself usually lasts 3–5 years. While some companies sell proprietary systems with expensive, hard-to-find filters, we install systems that use industry-standard cartridges to keep your future maintenance costs fair.

Does Reverse Osmosis water taste "flat" or weird?

RO water is extremely pure, which some people describe as "crisp" or "clean." Because it removes the minerals, it doesn't have the metallic or sulphur taste common in well water. If you prefer mineral water, we can add a "re-mineralization" cartridge to put healthy calcium back in for taste and pH balance.
